Some Frequently Asked Questions:

When will my pieces be ready?

That depends on the firing schedule. Typically it would take about two weeks to bisque fire your pieces. If your piece is being glazed by us then it would possibly take another two weeks for glaze fire.

Are other classes offered?

Depends on the class. If the class you want to take is full, reach out to us and we will see if we can squeeze you in. A wheel throwing class is limited to the number of wheels available. Reach out to us to see if we can put together an AD Hoc class.

What is the age range for classes?

It varies from class to class. We welcome anyone 18 and older. Students under 18 would have to arrange for a supervising adult to be present or a private class.

How large are the classes?

The class sizes are typically 2-8 students.

What else do I need for class?

Not much and nothing that is really required. For our wheel throwing and hand building classes we will send a list of things you may wish to bring.

What should I wear to class?

We recommend comfortable clothes, with short sleeves that you are ok with getting dirty. We also recommend long hair tied back when on the wheel and to remove all jewelry. Also keep in mind that clay won’t typically stain but many of the glazes will!

Do you have your own work to sell?

We usually keep a rotating supply of our own work available. This varies by schedule, season, and mood.

Do you take custom orders?

Very often. We get requests for special classes and times, custom pottery, and of course for any Memento Mori items.

Do you have open studio hours?

Sort of. We offer a limited number of monthly studio access options with some limitations. Send us an email to discuss your interest.

Is the Studio BYOB?

Yes, but keep in mind your hands may be covered in clay and slippery. Glass bottles should be decanted to something that could survive a drop on the floor. Be prepared to bring with you anything you might need, cups for example.
